Our Programs...

 

Magic Bus (est. 1975) trains family daycare providers through a program of regular home visits and workshops to ensure high-quality childcare for families.

 

Teen Parents and Babies (est. 1987) connects with young women who are in their last trimester of pregnancy and prepares them for labor and delivery.  The program then educates them to be their child's first and best teacher.

 

Even Start (est. 1997) a collaborative program with OCM-BOCES, providing families with home-based services to improve family literacy, parenting skills, adult education, early childhood development and employment opportunities.

 

 

FamiliesWorkÔ (est. 2004), our latest program, tailors private and job-site programs with customized themes specific to the needs of working caregivers who are concerned with a variety of issues including first-time pregnancies, adjusting to the new role of parent, effectively balancing the challenges of work and home, early childhood development, parent-school relationships, mental health and substance abuse issues, talking about sex with children, dealing with divorce, and teen dating.

 

Parent Success Initiative (est. 2006), a collaborative effort in our community, PSI is committed to assisting parents living apart from their children to find, keep and advance in employment as well as become better parents. PSI is a highly collaborative model involves the efforts of Greater Syracuse Works, OCM BOCES and nine other community organizations. Comprehensive services have been designed to serve the needs of non-custodial parents through an innovative use of outreach, recruitment, case management, parenting education, literacy, job placement and retention, and legal services.

The Consortium For Children’s Services, serving Central New York for  over 30 years, is a non-profit agency with United Way funded programs that provides home- and center-based services that empower caregivers to promote successful emotional, physical, educational and economic outcomes for children and their families.
