About Us...
This
might be the first time you've heard about our unique program, although we
have been in the community over 30 years. We use a slightly
unconventional approach to help at-risk children and families achieve a
measure of stability, of wholeness, of home.
We're
The Consortium For Children's
Services, Inc.,
and our time-tested method of helping Central
New York's children is unique and effective. We go directly into homes to
engage parents in appropriate learning activities with their at-risk young
children--how to care for them, how to nurture them and, yes, quite often,
how to love them--so that someday they and we can
gain a greater sense of community.
These parents and their children need a smile or an encouraging word
as much as they need intervention. And the best place for them to receive it
is the place they feel most comfortable and least threatened: their home.
Our family educators sit with them, many times right on the floor, to offer guided,
developmentally appropriate activities. And the program
works.
The Consortium is the only agency to
offer six one-of-a-kind programs that are
making a real difference in the lives of so many in Central New York.
The Consortium For Children’s Services, serving Central New York for over 30 years, is a non-profit agency with United Way funded programs that provides home- and center-based services that empower caregivers to promote successful emotional, physical, educational and economic outcomes for children and their families.
